ASI conducts low altitude aerial patrol and provides aerial photography for petroleum and petro-chemical customers in the Gulf Coast region of southern Louisiana and Mississippi. ASI inspects pipeline rights-of-way, oil and gas gathering fields, and petroleum storage facilities both off-shore and on-shore, including the LA coastal marshes. ASI flies approximately 8000 nautical miles per month in its two Cessna 182/RG aircraft.
Our primary patrol team consists of Master Photographer and Master Pilot, Kenneth Brummett; and Commercial Pilot Collin Lockfield. Mickey is ASI’s backup Commercial Pilot and Aerial Photographer. Luis Marianni is ASI's main man for keeping our aircraft ready to fly! From lineman duties to mechanic helper, Luis "gets the job done."
ASI is proud of the high-resolution aerial photo service we provide to our petro-chemical and refinery customers. While flying pipeline aerial patrol, we are always on the look-out for “out of the ordinary” sites such as oil and gas leaks, as well as any suspicious or unusual activity in our flying areas. ASI is proud of the many thousands of geo-tagged high-resolution photos provided to our customers over the past 30 years. ASI flew extensively over the Gulf Region following the BP oil spill locating oil spill residue and after every LA hurricane to assess damage areas for our customers.
ASI uses a Canon EOS 6D handheld camera generating up to 28 Megapixel images, with a Tamron 18-300mm zoom lens. We regularly conduct flights using a FLIR infra-red tank level determinations in-flight. It can also be used for “hot spot electrical transmission lines, or active units in petrochemical / refinery plants.
